Gifts of Appreciated Stock and Planned Gifts

The American Fund is happy to receive gifts of appreciated Stock. It is the policy of the board to sell stock as soon as it is received.

Planned gifts are popular because they can provide the donor with valuable tax benefits and/or income for life in addition to a substantial donation to the American Fund. In addition to Bequests (see Gift in your Will below) examples include a Charitable Remainder Trust and a Charitable Lead Trust, a Gift Annuity, a Pooled Income Fund, and a Retained Life Estate. If you are considering such a gift you should consult your tax adviser or attorney.

Please remember us through a Gift in your Will

The American Fund of the National Maritime Museum is extremely grateful to those individuals who have made, or have expressed an intention to make a bequest in their Will.

Such a bequest is among the most far reaching and valuable contributions a supporter can make, directly benefiting future generations. A bequest can reflect your particular interests and passions and can be directed to specific areas of the museum's work such as vital collections care, acquisitions, research activities and learning and community programmes.

If you are considering leaving a bequest to the American Fund of the National Maritime Museum and would like further information please contact:
